Here are some facts-
Do you know we use 5 trillion plastic bags per year and there are more microplastic in the ocean than stars in the Milky Way? Plastic bags end up in our oceans and seas, choking marine life - tangling the poor animals. Plastic is eaten by several animals like birds, whales, turtles and many more animals. These bags end up in landfill and they litter our communities as well as causing a catastrophe for the local wildlife and parks. Plastic bottles are cooked up using an industrial chemical called Bisphenol A. BPA for short. It is an endocrine disrupter, they mess with our systems and can cause diabetes and heart disease! Every time someone throws away a piece of plastic, it travels several hundred miles to end up on shores and in birds. Around 5 trillion pieces of plastic are already in the ocean. Many fish already have high levels of micro plastics in their systems and they are passing it right up the food chain to us and we are poisoning the poor fish and getting poisoned ourselves in return.
